Raadhuisstraat an Interesting Amsterdam Shopping Street Connecting the Old Centre Jordaan Westerchurch

"Raadhuisstraat" [Townhal street] is the main through-road in the Old City Centre - located between “Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal” and “de Prinsengracht” a well-known shopping street in the center of Amsterdam. The street originates behind the Royal Palace the former Town Hall or City Hall of Amsterdam.

“Raadhuisstraat” contains a shopping gallery making sheltered shopping possible which might come handy on a rainy day. This street was built around 1895

Situated close to “ de Negen-straatjes [the Nine Little Streets] the street is noted for its shopping where vendors sell goods varying from handmade chocolates to high-end fashion – jewellery - personal goods and home/lifestyle decorum.

Further down the street towards “de Westertoren-Westercurch” you may like to explore “de Jordaan” located right across the bridge after “de Westerkerk” where you can wander through the many narrow streets where you can get a good view and plenty opportunity for taking pictures and above all get shopping ideas at “de Rozengracht” and the many side streets of the old quarter “de Jordaan” the many art galleries and artist ateliers are. You also find yourself close to  the house of Anne Frank at the Prinsengracht 263-267.

On the Corner of “Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal” behind the Royal Place on the “Dam” square you find the “Magna Plaza” one of the most stylish shopping centers of Amsterdam which is housed in an elegant 19th century Neo-Gothic style building - one of the few shopping malls in Amsterdam worthwhile visiting.

Magna Plaza the former Post office building is a great place for boutique shopping - gifts/souvenirs – fashion designer clothing – jewellery and accessories.
