Amsterdam has a lot of café’s Café Hoppe is one of the oldest café’s in Amsterdam where locals meet after work. Hoppe is the place to meet all kind of people, the place itself is tiny so people are drinking jenever [Dutch Brandy] - beer- wine- cocktails - or a glass of champagne on the terrace which makes it a most enjoyable place to spend summer evenings. Café ‘t Smalle at “de Egelantiersgracht “ is worth visiting for its antique wooden beam ceiling and its outside terrace on the canal.
Holland has a tradition of good quality coffee and more …. So despite the cannabis image, “normal” coffee shops can be found everywhere one of the finest is café de Jaren at “de Nieuwe Doelenstraat 20” is one of the most grandest places to meet for coffee – tea – drink- dinner – lunch or to meet up.
